Downloading, Reading and Copying eBooks to your eReader

To read books on your eReader you must first download them to your PC and then transfer/Copy them to your eReader.
To do this you must first download and install the Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) program. This program is FREE and will enable you to read DRM protected eBooks as well as assist you in managing all the eBooks you have downloaded. The steps to read your first eBook are as follows.
Installing Adobe Digital Editions on your Computer

1. Firstly go to the following website to download and install Adobe Digital Editions.

1. Click on the Download Now button
2. You will then see a button called Install. Click on the Install Button
3. You will then be asked to confirm whether you wish to Install. Click on Install again.
4. A pop-up will appear, asking you to confirm again that you wish to install Adobe Digital Editions. Click on Yes.
5. The program will then install quickly.
6. After the ADE has been installed you will be asked to Launch the program. Click on the LAUNCH button
7. When Digital Editions launches/opens for the first time an Adobe Digital Editions Set-Up screen will appear.
8. Click Next and then click on the Install button
9. The program will then download more files and begin the set-up process on your computer
10. When the program is fully installed and set-up, it will say Completed. Click on the Close button.
11. You will then be presented with the Licensing Agreement. Click on I Agree.
12. The program will then open and the Setup Assistant will guide you through the final stages of the setup.
13. Click on Continue
14. The next screen will ask you for your Adobe ID. This will enable you to read rights protected eBooks you have purchased and will ensure that the eBooks and other digital reading material you have purchased will be rights protected.
15. If you don’t have an Adobe ID, then you will have to get one. It is free and only takes a few minutes to sign up. If you have an Adobe ID enter it on the screen. If you don’t then you will need to get one.
16. Click on the “get an Adobe ID online”
17. Then click on Create an Adobe Account and follow the instructions
18. Once you have obtained your ID, enter it into Adobe Digital Editions and click on Activate
19. Your computer will then connect to the Adobe Digital Editions website and will authorise your computer.
20. You are now ready to purchase and download eBooks and copy them to your eReader.

Downloading eBooks to your PC and eReader

1. Before downloading eBooks, make sure that your Adobe Digital Editions is open
2. Then click on the eBook you wish to download
3. The eBook will immediately download into your Adobe Digital Editions and you will be asked if you wish to open the eBook. Click on Open and it will open automatically
4. To copy the eBook to your eReader, you must first attach your eReader to your computer.
5. Using the cable provided, plug one end into your eReader and the other end into your computer’s USB port
6. Your computer will pick up the eReader and it will appear as a bookshelf in your Adobe Digital Editions
7. Simply Click on the eBook and drag and drop it onto your eReader bookshelf
8. Disconnect your eReader and you will then be able to read the eBook on your eReader
9. Note, you will only be able to transfer a DRM protected eBook to a total of 5 devices registered with your Adobe ID
